1. First and foremost, I am so excited to be doing this interview with you. I have heard such great things about your company and your products are great. My first question is, how long have you been in the beauty business?

A. We have been importing fine quality beauty products from abroad for more than 20 years.

2. What prompted you to start Lady De Cosmetic?

A.  My family has done import/export for as long as I can remember. My wife was always lamenting the high prices of good beauty supplies, so we did some investigating, and found great products for amazing prices in Asia. We found that, if we bought in sufficient quantities, we could offer our customers these products at significant discounts.

3. How long has the company been around?

A. Over 20 years.

4. What inspires choices for what you post and other products?

A. We like to make special offers to our loyal customers, so we slash prices even lower from time to time for those repeat customers, and we encourage them to spread the word about us.

5. What is your most popular selling item?

We sell a bit of everything, but our most popular and fastest selling items are eye shadow palettes and makeup kit sets. Everyone loves them.

6. Basically, tell me the story of how Lady De Cometic came to be. What can we expect from Lady De Cosmetic in 2013 ? Tell me a little about yourself.

A. When we started our business as an import / export 20 years ago, we always had some goals in mind: quality , price and service. After a while we decided to expand our field and provide high quality cosmetics those in need of high quality cosmetics, want to save a lot of money and like a company who is dependable and always there for them. There are several brands out there selling maybe similar items or designs. What separates Lady de Cosmetics from the others is high quality, low price, variety of colors and design, and most of our products are not tested on animals. In the upcoming year we are planning to expand the variety of our products as always. The more products we provide and sell, the more savings for our clients.  At Lady de Cosmetics we don't see our buyers as mere customers, we count them as a part of our family.

For a long as I can remember I have always loved making others smile.  I believe that we live in a world filled with magical things and we would notice it if we took the time to realize the magic before us all. You see the women in my family have a gift to craft and for that I inherited the magical hands to make miracles and magic potions too. My Two Daughters 7 & 3 (Susan &Katelyn) believes in their hearts that they are fairies and they have a secret gift to make others smile too. That very night I looked at my window and saw it; a plate filled with Glow in the dark experiments glowing so bright with green, blue and violet and next to it was a Vial I purchased from the craft store and it all looks so pretty together. The next day I took my Hammer and broke the solid glow blocks up and mixed all the colors up and filled it in the Vial. That is where “Fairy Glow Lantern™” was born. Dermalogica Review

Dermalogica is a product I have wanted to try for awhile now so what a great opportunity it was for me when I was asked to a a review for them from Astonishing Skin Care. When the samples came in, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many packets were mailed to me. Lots of samples is always a plus in my book. After my first use, my skin felt super soft which is great especially after being the first time using the product. The system is a three step process, cleansing gel, daily microfolient and active moist. Having three steps is a little annoying but the end result is worth it. I was sent packets for oily to normal skin which I am and Age smart for firming the skin, protection from the sun and skin primer. I haven't tried that system out yet so I won't go on about it. -How long have you been in the beauty business?

I just recently began actively formulating eyeshadows in January 2013, but Indie Cosmetics was officially created in late 2012. Personally, I have been a makeup addict for about two years.

-What prompted you to start Indie Cosmetics? 

It started with my own personal need for brightly colored eyeshadows. I felt that I could create the bright colors that I love and have control over what ingredients are used and how the makeup is tested. Prior to starting Indie Cosmetics, I was surprised at how many cosmetic companies still test their products on animals. That is why I decided to use vegan and cruelty-free ingredients in my makeup. I also wanted an affordable price point and I feel that as a small company with less overhead, I can accomplish that.

-How long has the company been around?

Although we officially started in late 2012, we have just recently put together our first collection, the Unicorn Collection, in March 2013.

-What is your most popular selling item?

Our first collection, the Unicorn Collection, has been our most popular item. We are looking forward to having more eyeshadow colors and collections very soon.

-What can we expect in 2013?

You can expect to see more eyeshadow collections in 2013. Vegan, cruelty-free, and affordable, as always!

-Tell me a little bit about yourself.

Well, I've been married for 10 years, and I also just recently managed to get the hubby to try formulating an eyeshadow color :) I like to call myself a goofy goober extraordinaire because I am silly and I don't mind having a good laugh at myself.

My Beauty Addiction Review

I'm sure everyone has heard of My Beauty Addiction and if you haven't, you will. They were recently looking for promoters on Facebook and of course I wanted to be a part of their company so I entered. The owner emailed me and told me of another venture she was doing, I very quickly jumped at the chance to review My Beauty Addiction. I got to choose the products I wanted to review which Of course I loved, my favorite is Purple Twinkle Dust, its travel color is amazing, its white with a shade of purple. Milk chocolate looks like cocoa powder and limelight looks applies a beautiful shade of lime. The shadow application is smooth and it seems to just glide on which is a plus in my book, the easier the application the better. My Beauty Addiction sells more than just makeup but that will come later. Mauvalicious lipstick is smooth and also glides on smooth and easy. You can see from my pic below the shade is between rose and pink, its a very elegant color. My favorite thing about the lipstick is the beautiful tube it comes in, it's so elegant and it fits My Beauty Addiction.  I hope you all get to try My Beauty Addiction, you won't be disappointed, so many great products to offer.

My review of Honey XO !

First and foremost I want to thank Honey XO for allowing me to do this review. When I heard I was getting products to review I was extremely excited. I love the baggie the samples came in, I was delighted to see the amount of shadow each baggie contained, you are not shorted at all. My favorites of the samples were pink frosting and cupcake. I am a pinkaholic and a lover of purple so these were right up my alley. All the colors are highly pigmented as shown below. I was in love with the smooth texture the shadows had because it made it easy to apply and spread. I was concerned about Fairytale since the color is darker than I use but it actually went well with my skin tone so I was pleasantly surprised. Honey XO offers an array of shades for any occassion so guaranteed you will find something you'll love and that matches with your favorite outfit. Price for samples is very reasonable and shipping time will vary but I live in AZ and received my samples in less than a week so I smiled about that. Overall, I was satisfied with Honey XO and will be trying other shades soon. Im wearing pink frosting and buttercup in the pic below along with a second pic of fairytale and forest love.

Viktor Makeup Buffet MUA !

Hello there, My name is Viktor, In case you are now wondering, yes, I am a "Boy".
I've loved makeup ever since I can remember! My inspiration is high fashion makeup. I get inspired by colors, I just look at my eye shadows to get inspired most of the time. I do though, come up to very beautiful ad's Or work of makeup artist. I don't have a favorite Makeup Artist, I have favorite's like Roxanne Rocknroll, RoseShock, Gina The Makeup Artist, The Queen of Blending, Brittany Couture, Palmira and there's so many more that I can't remember! I started using makeup when I was about 12 - 13 years old. My favorite brand is Sugarpill Cosmetics , even though I don't own any , or have used any. I've seen a lot of MUA'S that use Sugarpill , It was like love at first sight.

Darling Girl Cosmetics !

I want to thank Darling Girl Cosmetics for this interview.  The products that are pictured are really great and so vibrant looking. I have not had the opportunity to try out products from Darling Girl but I hope so soon. Please go and take a look at there products, they are truly amazing.

My first question is, how long have you been in the beauty business?  I haven’t been in the beauty business long but I have been avid makeup fiend since I was a little girl.  I used to experiment with fun makeup on all my friends.

 

2. What prompted you to start Darling Girl cosmetics?  Well, it was always kind of a daydream a friend and I had.  We would sit for hours doing each other’s makeup and talking about how cool it would be to have our own company.  It kind of remained a distant dream as I was working in banking but then my husband got transferred to a different location for his job and I had a hard time finding a job so I took a risk and the rest is history.

 

3. How long has the company been around?  It’s hard to believe it’s been such a journey but we have been officially open since July of 2010.  In some ways it seems like it’s been a lot longer and in other ways like it just happened yesterday.  Either way I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for the world.   Long hours and all.

 

4. What inspires color choices for your makeup and other products?  I find inspiration in many different ways.  Nature. Food. Clothing.  I think nature would be my biggest inspiration.  Flowers. Sunset. Fields of wild flowers.  I have been known in my early days to dream about color and wake up in the middle of the night to go make the colors come to life.   

 

5. What is your most popular selling item? The number one of all-time best selling shade is Jeweled Taupe followed closely by London Calling.  Glitter Glue has developed a bit of a cult following as well.  It’s a shadow fixative/mixing medium.  It works to help sparkly shades stick so you don’t have glittery cheeks as well as bringing out the sheen or duotone in a shadow.

 

Basically, tell me the story of how Darling Girl Cosmetics came to be.  I’ve always been a girly girl makeup lover and this was a dream come true for me.  I am so greatful that I couldn’t find a job when my husband got a job transfer to South Texas.  I built Darling Girl Cosmetics on a shoestring budget but has flourished into a pretty thriving business and I couldn’t be happier about it.

 

What can we expect from Darling Girl cosmetics in 2013 ?  I’m known for being quite prolific with my shadow creations so there will be plenty of new eye shadow coming up.  I have a collection of duochromes coming out in a few months, some color correcting powders with botanicals and I’m really excited about working on matte lipstick line.  I am a bit of a lip product  junkie!

 

Tell me a little bit about yourself::  Let’s see.  I’ve been happily married for 15 years.  I am the mother of two boys 17 and 14.  One will be going into college next year.  I can hardly believe it!  Darling Girl is pretty much a one woman show.  I have an assistant that helps with labeling products a couple days a week but other than that it’s just me running the show. ;)

Continuing my Journey in the world of Beauty

A long time ago when I was a little girl, I had this dream that someday I would become a famous model. As I grew older I started to want different things but that one dream always stayed in the back of mind. I have always been self conscious about myself and always thought that I wasn't good enough to be in the lime light. As a native of Tucson Az, there really aren't too many opportunities for women as far as beauty and modeling go, we have a Barbizon here but that is really as far as it goes. Since I started my beauty blog and posting my own looks on my Beauty Bytes page, I have been gaining a little more confidence each day and I thank all the wonderful people who have inspired me. Now at age 38, I think it's time to try my hand at something new to see if maybe I have the look some one is looking for. I entered a contest on Explore Modeling for e.l.f. Salty Cosmetics !

Let me introduce you all to Salty Cosmetics ! This company grabbed my attention due to it's name and fantastic colors I saw. I don't know how many of you have heard of Salty Cosmetics but I guarantee you they will be big very soon. 1.  I have been in the beauty business since 2001 when I attended Cosmetology school in Kansas.  I am a licensed Hair Stylist and Esthetician in both Kansas and Missouri

2.  I have had this dream of my own makeup line since I was in high school! I remember my first eye shadow palette of over 100 shadows that I purchased myself and I would try to get every color I could on my eye lid! LOL But years down the road, after a 10 yr Army career, hair school, husband, 2 kids, jobs, and more school it just never seemed to be a good time to start or even think about a dream like that.  But 4yrs ago I started Esthetics school because I was still chasing the dream I met a couple of awesome young ladies who had the same passion for makeup, fashion and really fantastic creativity! I approached them with the idea while we were taking the makeup course in school.  They all said YES and we began the journey! And it just so happened that everyone that I wanted to partner with in our company, all of our first initials spelled out SALTY and that is how we got our name! Sarah, Arnelle, Lacey, Tom(my Dad), and Yolanda(my mother). My parents are awesome and I include them in every crazy venture! LOL

I wanted our focus to be on the ingredients we were using instead of just using the cheapest available, we did a lot of research on what was going to make us stand out.  And women are very ingredient savvy these days, another cosmetics line with the same cheap, skin irritating ingredients wasn't going to cut it!

4.  Of course we like to be on trend as much as possible, but I'm also one who likes to "buck the system" a bit and I LOVE color! So anything that is bright and makes a statement is what we look for.  I am not one to follow the crowd but also understand the importance of what our clients are looking for.  Being a hairstylist and esthetician trains you to listen to what your client is looking for and also why we based our line off of our Custom Blending features.  We want women to fall in love with makeup again and not be afraid of color.  Our Custom Blending feature allows the client to be in charge and create the PERFECT color for them! They include all of their specifications including, type of shadow they are looking for (matte, shimmer, semi-matte….), skin tone, hair and eye color, and a description of the color they are wanting.  We ship them samples for them to test and they tell us the changes they would like to make, we make a new sample and send them a new sample.  This process continues until the client is satisfied with the final product.  They also get to name the color whatever they want, we ship them a full sized finalized product with the name they chose and it is then added to our website for purchase!

5.This feature is one of our best selling items.  We also have done custom blended blush, bronzer and lip gloss.  We have recently added custom blended glitter pigment to the list since we have been dealing with a lot of Cheer competitors looking for special formulations to stand out at the competitions! 

6.  The other best selling item is the eye shadow "Glama-ZOID!"  In April of last year we were approached by Ipsy (formerly My Glam) and they wanted to do a collaboration for their August Glam bags.  Well of course we decided to make a custom blend just for the occasion so they would have an exclusive color from us! And Glama-ZOID was born and ever since it hit the glam bags in August we have had a hard time keeping it in stock! It is the perfect iridescent color that looks fantastic on every skin tone and every age! It almost morphed into whatever skin tone its on and provides them with the perfect color! 

7.  Salty is still a VERY small cosmetics line and we do everything ourselves….we hand blend everything and make everything from scratch.  In 2013 Salty is going through a website overhaul, with the main focus being our new Custom Blend Program which will be anticipating release in May.  Clients will be able to earn discounts on the Custom Blends they have created for life, everyone will be able to vote on their favorite custom colors and the creator of that color earns free products and bigger discounts based on votes! We will also hopefully have perfected our foundations by late summer or sooner.  This special formula has been in testing phase for some time now but I have to be sure it is perfect before we release a substandard product.  But our main focus is color products, we want Salty to be the place you turn to for that eye shadow you can't find ANYWHERE! We are going to add that to our branding during the website overhaul.  We will be Salty Cosmetics Eye Shadow Boutique & Custom Blending Bar.

I want to personally thank Paula for this feature, after doing the interview with No.915 Cosmetics, it turned out that Paula is a celebrity makeup artist so how could I pass up the opportunity to feature her. As I said yesterday, her products are awesome and she is truly an amazing person.
