1 how long have you been in the beauty
business
I first went into business is 2006. My Hair
Extension Company was the beginning and its just sort of evolved from there. It
seems that ANYTHING beauty related captures my attention and interest and sooner
or later I get the urge to dip my toes in and test the water.
2. What prompted you to start My beauty
Addiction?
My original inspiration for MBA was after
hitting 40 and REALLY looking in the mirror one day and realizing I was getting
older and starting to LOOK it. I wasn’t happy with the chemical filled skincare
products that were on the market and decided I could create something better for
myself. I was a couple of years into my hair
extension business when I got the urge to start playing in skincare & makeup
quickly followed. I was selling my products on my hair extension site but come
to realize that I wasn’t hitting the right market, and that’s when MBA was born.
The name REALLY does fit, its an addiction, I tell ya!
3. How long has the company been
around?
MBA was started in 2008, although we had been
selling from HE101 before that time.
4. What inspires color choices for your
makeup and other products?
ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, LOL. I'm a color
junkie and a beauty addict, so anything can trigger my need to create something
new. It can be as simple as something I see in nature, a picture of colors that
really captures my interest or seasonal color and fashion trends.
5. What is your most popular selling
item?
Our Color Rick Lipstick in Sapphire- It amazes
me every day what a hot seller our Sapphire Lipstick is! Our funky color’s are
the best sellers but Sapphire runs circles around the others!
Basically, tell me the story of how My
Beauty Addiction came to be:
(I think #2 sums it up
perfectly!)
What can we expect from My Beauty
Addiction in 2013 ?
Its so hard to say, since we are always
evolving and I never know what new idea may strike me.. However, I'm trying to
‘diversify’ a bit. With so many handmade products its really hard to keep adding
more handmade items and keep up with everything. So I'm trying to supplement our
handmade line with some other types of products to help free me up a bit more to
work on other things. Some of the things I would like to add to our line is nail
products, eyelashes, and possibly some more private label pressed makeup. I
would really love to start working on soaps again. He have a soap shop that we
had to take a long term vacation from because of the lack of time, but I would
really love to start soaping again soon!
Tell me a little about yourself and if
others work with you about them also:
I am a workaholic who loves what I do, and
tend to forget all about time and can easily put in a 16 hour day before I even
realize what time it is! I crank up the radio in my shop and lose all
sense of time when Im working!
I love MBA!!! Great interview! :-)
