Orglamix Cosmetics

Thank You Orglamix Cosmetics for allowing me this interview with you. I have heard nothing but good things about your products and hope to be trying them for myself soon.
My first question is, how long have you been in the beauty business?
I've been involved in the beauty business in some form or fashion for the past twenty five years.
I'm a self proclaimed ‘product junkie'.  I started out collecting lip balm and was quickly promoted to the president of the Lip Smacker Club in the first grade. Good memories -- today my grade school friends and I still talk about this.

2. What prompted you to start Orglamix cosmetics?
I really wanted to create an amazing, all natural makeup line with no fillers or nasty chemical ingredients that were impossible to pronounce. I wanted it to be colorful and fun-- never bland or boring! I experimented with tons of different formulas until I found the ones that contained the least amount of ingredients with great texture, long-lasting color payoff and ease of application. My philosophy has always been minimal ingredients, maximum impact.

3. How long has the company been around?
I've been working on Orglamix for several years.

4. What inspires choices for what you post and other products?
Our customers! I listen to what they want-- whether it's a daily giveaway, another shade of eyeshadow or a light-as-air HD powder. They talk, I listen.
5. What is your most popular selling item?
Out top five bestsellers are:  Any and all of our Pure Natural Mineral Eyeshadows, Whole Grain Self Adjusting Pure Natural Mineral Foundation, Rice Sake Pure Natural Mineral Matte Powder, Pure Natural Perfecting Color Correctors and the Aromatherapy Lip Butters.

What can we expect from Orglamix Cosmetics in 2013/2014 ?
I just launched a Pro Artist Program for industry professionals (makeup artists, estheticians, cosmetologists, hairstylists, fashion stylists, nail technicians, costume designers, models, on-air talent/performers and photographers) with a substantial discount. When the Orglamix Pro Artist program launched, over 500 customers immediatly expressed an interest in selling Orglamix. These were not pros, but avid product junkies and moms, just like me. So I'm developing a new program called the Orglamix Beauty Advisor team, aka Glamologists for those that would like to sell Orglamix. It's going to be hard to narrow it down, but I'm super excited to share my passion with everyone. It's an exciting opportunity and not often do people get the opportunity to make a difference, and make money in the process.

New colors - of course- lots of new colors! Some of them will be limited edition and only available via our Glam Box,  which is a monthly membership scheduled to start in early 2014. While other shades will be added to our growing "core" collection. In the works is our
bespoke line which allow customers to "create" their very own product from the ground up by "building" the base (gel, cream, lotion, lip gloss, mascara, etc), the color, the finish and the "scent" etc.
I'm always open to ideas and suggestions. If you'd like to see something special from Orglamix, I'd love to hear from you. Please email me cheri@orglamix.com

Interview with Impulse Cosmetics

Pandora Lipstick
Q: How long have you been in the beauty business?A: Though Impulse Co has only been around for a little over a year, I have been dabbling with "home-made" cosmetics for quite some time. It started back in 2008, my senior year of High School, when I came across a DIY post entailing the process of making your own mineral foundation and eyeshadow. At the time, I was spending an arm and a leg on the BareMinerals monthly kits, so replacing the cash I was blowing with a little extra free time seemed like a fun and frugal idea. From there, I started formulating pretty basic eyeshadows, which I sold to family, friends, and a few folks on the internet. This little hobby turned into a passion, and my passion for color fueled a business that I wouldn't trade for the world.

Q: What prompted you to start Impulse Cosmetics?A: It's true what they say; "When you love what you do, you won't work a day in your life." I've always been a really creative person, a  "colorful mess-maker" even in diapers. My inspiration for art and all things creative paved my path to Art School, even though two years in I realized that liberal arts degree wasn't as practical as I wanted it to be. Given the back story of how I discovered DIY cosmetics, when I realized that I could apply the creative side of myself that I loved and embraced AND turn it into a "career" that would pay my bills, the answer was obvious.

Q: How long has Impulse Cosmetics been around? A: Impulse Co was "born" in August of 2013. I'm happy to say that we just crossed our one year marker, and I'm looking forward to many to come!

Q: What inspires choices for what you post and sell?A: I'm obsessed with color, plain and simple. The beauty industry is vast, especially when you take Independent Cosmetic companies, like Impulse Co, into account.. but I think, at the risk of generalizing, the industry is focused on "what sells" and "what will make me $$" not what peaks interest. The "vast majority" might not have any interest in yellow lipstick, but we'll keep it in stock for that one person that does want it.
That said, I would be lying if I didn't do the market research and plot trends, but in addition to products & shades that are popular, I also aim to come out with products that are unique and a little out-of-the-ordinary.

Q: What is your most popular selling item? A: Our most popular, best selling items are "Melancholy", "Smoking Gun", and "Pandora" lipsticks. Every time I make a new batch of any of those shades, they're gone within the day. Pandora is also one of my favorite shades, but if I had to pick a "go-to" lip color, it would be "Two Timer". I never really saw myself as a "red lipstick girl"; I had the habit of sticking pretty close to my comfort zone until I gave that shade a spin.. and now, I'll scream it from the rooftops, ANYONE can pull of a red lippy.

Q: What can we expect from you in 2013-2014?A: I am constantly coming up with ideas for new shades, new products, and thrilling promotions and some of them never leave the ground, but I feel like, in the coming year, my line is doing well enough & I'm within my comfort zone to start premiering some of those products. I'm currently working on a liquid lipstick line, a gel liner line to match our crazy colored lipsticks, and a line of full coverage concealers and foundations.

NYC Sparkle Eye Dust

I received Sparkle Eye Dust in my Influenster Paradise VoxBox as you can see the product looks nice so I decided to add it to my Makeup Fairyz lip color and this was the result. So what I figured out is that NYC Sparkle Eye Dust can be used on more than just your eyes. As you can see from the second pic I posted, my eyes are sparkly and very colorful, this is a product I would recommend you to try if either on your eyes or your lips to make your lip color pop.

Olay Fresh Effects

This product is one of the things that I received in my Paradise Voxbox from Influenster. I am always skeptical when I receive name brand products because from experience they don't always work very well on my skin. I have been using Olay Fresh Effects for a few days now and I have to admit that it seems to working well for my skin believe it or not. The scent is just an added bonus, my face winds up feeling really fresh and clean after using Olay Fresh Effects. This product is something I wouldn't see buying for myself so I am happy to have gotten it from Influenster.
