My Beauty Addiction: More than just Cosmetics

Most of you know My Beauty Addiction by their cosmetics but did you also know that they sell more than just cosmetics? It's true, My Beauty Addictions products go way beyond cosmetics with their supply of skin toners, deodorants, body sprays, lotions, facial cleaners,  etc. I was fortunate enough to be able to try all of these things and wound up with a positive outcome for using these products. My favorite were the body spray and deodorant, I was skeptical at first about the deodorant just because I didn't think it would give me the protection that I would need throughout the day but as always I was pleasantly surprised, it kept me fresh and smelling good all day. The body spray smells so good, it smells like Strawberry Ice Cream and sprays on easy and lasts all day. I have to tell you that when it comes to facial cleansers I hardly use any just because it never gets all my makeup off so I was sure that My Beauty Addiction's would have the same outcome. When I first used it and dried my face, I was expecting to see leftover eyeliner around my eyes, I took the towel off my face and my face was clean, no leftover makeup anywhere. After using the cleanser I sprayed the toner on my face, it dried super quick and left my face feeling so soft. I am not one to use facial masks but decided to try My Beauty Addictions mask, I followed the directions and I kid you not it's like exfoliation for your face, my face was the softest it's ever been. I am so surprised at this skin care line, I have combination skin so whatever I use will either dry my face or leave it oily, this line did neither, it left my face feeling so refreshed and soft, the perfect balance for my skin. Thank you to My Beauty Addiction for allowing me to try out these awesome products. If you haven't checked out  their website, please do it you won't be disappointed. http://www.mybeautyaddiction.com

KaBoom Alternative Accessories !

I want to say Thank You to KaBoom Alternative Accessories for doing this feature for me. This feature holds a special place in my heart because I am one of the newest Merch Models for KaBoom, all jewelry is custom made and so adorable so be sure you check out their Facbook page out, https://www.facebook.com/kaboom.alternativeaccessories.9?fref=ts.
I only began in the jewellery business a year ago (April 2012), which is when I started up KaBoom! Alternative Accessories. Initially, it was because I'd already tried out a bunch of different art forms (illustration, digital art, photography, fashion design, printing...etc) and wanted to do more!
I can't get enough of designing and making things, so I tried making a couple of accessories and found I had a knack for it. Then I thought "If I'm going to start this hobby, it'd be better to share it with others." Besides, when would I wear all of these accessories?
So I started up my facebook page, put up a few hair clips and some bottled glitter necklaces, and caught the attention of a few people. It kind of built up from there, with more ideas, more requests and eventually, FINALLY, sales. It's still only a small business, mostly a hobby since I have university and other commitments to keep up with. However, I log in every day, make accessories as often as possible and try to constantly improve the shop.

I'd say that my accessories are greatly influenced by a little shop I found at a stall once, at a local fair. I can't remember their name, but they sold adorable and unique jewellery for really low prices. I fell in love with them for it, and realised just how many brilliant designs people could come up with, without bleeding customers dry. They also believe in giving a little extra to loyal customers, which I've found helps in my shop too. Since it's only a small business, I really rely on loyal customers to keep me going.
Music also largely influences my accessories, especially the most recent ones. I listen to a lot of J-pop, K-pop and upbeat electronic music, which often means I make cute and colourful accessories. But then I'm also into other genres such as metal, punk, old fashioned/folksy so my shop is pretty much filled with a great mix of styles.
I believe to stand out from the crowd, you need to sell something no-one else has, which is why I sell a lot of unique one-offs I've made with odd bits and pieces. People are drawn in by my shop because chances are, they'll find an item that is the only one ever made. My accessories are alternative, out of the ordinary.

Recently I've added possibly my oddest items to the shop: Crazy and colourful cat face jewellery. These earrings are possibly my favourite of the items in my shop: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=299828440149969&set=a.126659564133525.23777.100003684469733&type=3&theater
I actually find it difficult to part with accessories such as this. Also, these galaxy inspired earrings: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=273756592757154&set=a.126659564133525.23777.100003684469733&type=3&theater    I only made one, so it's even more difficult to let go! Haha!
I'd say the most popular items in my shop are the bottled glitter dust necklaces. These have been around since I first opened the shop actually, and are still going strong because they're not something you would find in any accessory store. I also personalise mine to suit the customer. I have poison, fairy dust, sherbert, love potions... You name it!

What does 2013 bring for KaBoom! Alt. Accessories?
-Nearing the end of March, I began taking on merchandise models. Soon, these beautiful ladies will be showing off my accessories in style!
-Possibly handmade KaBoom charms (polymer clay), and hopefully unique KaBoom acrylic laser-cut charms. Sample: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4865038176676&set=a.4453920818999.164332.1018913729&type=3&theater
-Also, a wider range of accessories (I'll be adding rings soon, for a start).
-A rather exciting project that I'm trying to put together, involving local models and MUAs. So KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THAT!

KaBoom! Alt Accessories are really stepping it up for 2013. It's all happening now.

Modified Dolls !

When I think of one organization that I would love to part of, The Modified Dolls is it. These ladies have helped and continue to help so many people all over the United States. This non profit organization is one of the most well know groups out there today, they not only help out different charities but they are a voice for alternative beauty, which attracted me the most. I applied to be a Tucson Doll and believe it or not was accepted but had to back out because of the commitment that I would have to make, it's not an easy task being a Modified Doll. I continue to support them 100% and hope to one day be able to commit to the wonderful organization these ladies have created. Please check out their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/themodifieddollsorg?fref=ts.
The group was founded as a FB and friend group with no licensing in September 2011. It officially got granted non profit org licensure in Feb 2012. We are NOT 501c3 with the IRS as that is a charity. We are NOT a charity. We are a non profit org based out of Washington state with chapters in 48 states and 8 different countries. We have 10 other states officially licensed as non profit orgs in their respective states as well and the other building chapters operate under WA as the official headquarters.  The idea for the group came from all the negativity and negative stereotypes I had to deal with being a highly tattooed nurse and mother, and also my love for helping others. It seemed that the one could help to abolish the other if just more people realized what amazing, caring, and giving women modified women are. I have gotten 100's of letters, emails, calls from Dolls saying how TMD has given them their confidence back, has awoken their spirit, and has made them make better life decisions. We require our girls to be of the highest moral capacity and good citizens with no criminal background or activity. I think we have made huge strides in many communities. We have been honored by mayors in some states, been on many many news broadcasts, honored by churches, and had write ups honoring our work in many magazines as well. On top of that the org has raised over 40,000 dollars for charity and logged in hundreds of thousands of charity work hours..not to mention used goods donations, hair donations, and new toy donations. TMD picks a different charity to support each month. We love supporting diverse charities that have a need and an interest to our members :D

Aimee Kelch !

I want to Thank Aimee for doing this feature for me, Aimee is one of my favorite MUA's because her looks are always so colorful and precise. The artwork she does is just amazing and her looks always look so beautiful. If I keep up my work I hope to be as good as her one day. Visit her Facebook page Blissfully Deranged Makeup to see more of her incredible work https://www.facebook.com/BlissfullyDerangedMakeup?fref=ts
I've started doing makeup ever since I can remember. I was always known as the makeup girl in high school and I remember my friends asking me if I can do their makeup for prom's, homecomings, and such. My mom started doing Mary Kay when I was in high school and I think that really got me hooked when I used to go through her stash and play with it. About a year or so ago was when I started posting looks and really getting into improving my technique. I've come a very long way since then and have learned more than I can imagine. I'm still eager to learning new things and open myself up to absorb whatever I can whenever I can.
As far as favorite beauty company I can't really say I have one. Some of the top one's I've tried thus far has been BFTE, Lime Crime, BH cosmetics, My Beauty Addiction, Eye Kandy and lots of others. (I'm sure there's one or two in there that has completely skipped my mind and for that I do apologize.) I strongly believe that each and every company has their own uniqueness and has something that makes it stand out from other companies. I'm always looking to try new things as well and have recently gotten into the whole blogging community. I'm always on the search to blog for companies and help them out in any way I can.
I truly have a passion for what I do and love helping others feel beautiful about themselves along with giving them some pointers that I've picked up over the years. I in no way call myself a professional, but I would like to consider myself a free lance makeup artist.
I've added some oldies in here just to show you how far I've come since I first started (the first pic are some old ones and the last three are my three most recent looks. I even decided to add something with a little bit of spunk to it ) and to let people know that they should never give up. If you love it do it. Don't be afraid to take risks because that's what helps you grow as an artist. People may not like what you do but don't let that discourage you. Some people for who knows what reason like to be really rude and try to bring you down especially in the makeup world. Don't be afraid to ask questions Be humble and please be open to taking advice ( you never know, you may end up doing it and like it better) Also do what fits your personality not the personalities of others!!

Tucson Tattoo Expo !

I am so excited to be bringing you this feature, for those of you who don't live in Tucson, the Tattoo Expo is one of the popular events in Arizona. Many artists from all over come to Tucson for this 3 day event, do you need a tattoo? piercing? want to see a great car show? think you have the look to enter a pin up contest? then this is the place to be. For 3 days Hotel Tucson becomes the place everyone who loves tattoos and piercings wants to be and where all this is available while enjoying some great contests, last year was our first year going to the Expo and we loved it, we even came home with a few new modifications, its a great event to go to if you live in Tucson or in the surrounding areas. Now that you know a little bit about this fabulous event, I give you my feature: The expo began in 2009, and one of the main reason for starting the show was that, I as a artist myself I had been able to travel to expos around the country. In going to these shows, I was fortunate to be exposed to some great artists, and collectors in other cities and states. So I thought it would be great to have an Expo here, and give some of the great artists that we have here in Tucson, and everyone here a chance to get tattooed by artists from across the country.
you my feature:
As for choosing artists, vendors, as well as the location. We looked for the best representation of tattoo artists, art from the local artisans, as well as a location that would best give everyone a chance to enjoy the great weather he have in the spring.

Every time someone ask me about the show, and what its about. I ask them if they had a good time at the show, and tell them that thats what its about.
Want a liitle more information on this event, please visit http://www.tucsontattooexpo.com/

Rodz and Rockets

Rodz and Rockets in Peoria Az. Don't miss this exciting event.

Unique Perfection Merch !

I want to thank Unique Perfection for doing this feature for me. I have heard some great things about this company and think it would be awesome to be a part of it, aside some having great products they also have some good looking models modeling their products. Visit their Facebook page for more info https://www.facebook.com/Perfectionofficial?fref=ts
Unique Perfection started just one day when myself and my partner were looking for a Pokemon necklace but realizgorgeous models with merchandise). But after a while we started getting over 200 applications a day so it was very hard to keep up with it so now we have set monthly competitions and the winner of each month gets a place with Unique. We love doing custom orders for people as well, giving people what they want at great affordable prices makes having Unique worth while.
ed they were charging about £10.00 for 1 necklace and i thought we could make the cheaper ourselves. Everyone started asking where we got them from so we decided to start making our own products then brought it to Facebook to get more notice.  To begin with we asked people who were interested to apply by filling in our application form and we hand selected a set amount of models( i have attached some photos of our models.

Winterlust Sitemodelling !

I discovered Winterlust Sitemodelling when I entered the LIKE competition on Facebook. I really don't like entering LIKE competitions because I know the odds of winning are not very good, but I had a feeling that I should enter this one so I did. The owner of Winterlust is the nicest person you will ever meet, she is so adorable. I want to thank her for doing this feature for me and if any of you think you'd like to enter her competition, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Winterlust-Sitemodelling/553947831312260.
I've been site modelling on and off ever since I was about fifteen. I really enjoyed it, the groups and people I was interacting with were really kind and supportive. I was going through a bit of difficulty self-esteem wise at the time, incidents occurring at school and my confidence was getting knocked greatly. People on a whole didn't take kindly to or accepted the whole 'alternative' look. So when I discovered site modelling, I was encouraged by the girls I saw that were similar to me in their style, being able to site model, just from their computers at home. It was that simple, and they were getting so much from it. I applied for a few sites, and got into a couple. And that's where it all began. I grew a lot over the next few years, I felt a lot more respected and It was a nice contrast to people saying not-so-nice things about my appearance at look elsewhere. The sites I had joined really supported me, these groups do more than just advertise models, once you're in there, it's more like a family. I've never seen anything like it, even though most of us had never met, we were comfortable nearly right away, because we all felt so accepted. You could talk about anything with these people, It was a real source of comfort. I was given lots of opportunities, support and confidence by these groups, and I think that's what inspired me to set up my own site, so I could give this back to other people who were just like me. We treat each other equally, in some cases, these modelling sites do go wrong if they are not properly managed. Some members can cause a disturbance within the group or with another site and arguments or conflict can arise. Having witnessed that, I took it under my wing to ensure that I do everything possible to avoid Winterlust getting into any kind of conflict. Every member is welcomed, every member is introduced and is given tips on how to improve if they are new to site modelling. I really enjoy running the site, it keeps me busy every minute of the day, especially with it's recently outburst of popularity, partly from the requests for the chibi character designs. However, that's all part of the fun and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have big plans for Winterlust and so far it's looking well on it's way to achieving them.
~Bella
